If the worlds very best athletes, sports people and entertainers all have coaches, you’ve got to wonder what would happen if we all had access to them.
What if coaching was a cornerstone of our society? What would we achieve as individuals, as teams, as businesses and as a nation, even a planet?
I’m not advocating some form of clandestine drive to tactically force the human race to the next level of evolution or anything like that, but think about it for a moment.
I’m sure you can remember a teacher from school, a family member or some acquaintance who used to crush your spirit with their words and actions. In fact, I reckon that just by mentioning the existence of this person, it will alter your mood somewhat if you recall vividly how they make you feel.
Instead, what if there was someone, throughout work, throughout school, throughout any organisation, the sole job of which would be to enable you to go where-ever you really want to go, get and do whatever it is you really want to do?
What if you were encouraged and supported to excel daily?
What if the star in you wasn’t only given the chance to shine, but couldn’t help but shine and shine brightly for that matter?
What if you were inspired and inspiring always?
And for those of you who were lucky enough to be encouraged and looked after well all the way during their formative years; well done! What would happen if you imagine taking your best skills and making them better?
What will be the outcome when you choose to learn new skills or consciously make a decision to improve your weaknesses?
Seeing that you, the reader, are likely to be a human being, you have the potential to master pretty much anything you want. Specialisation is for insects. If there is another person on the planet that can do a particular thing, you can do so too.
The fact is that coaching is for everyone. We are not given the best chance in life by money, degree’s and a flash car, though these can all help.
We are given the best chance when we are encouraged, inspired and guided towards success, given assistance in overcoming our problem areas and developing our natural talents to the highest level.
Here’s the trick though. How can you be successful when you are following someone else’s definition of success?
Coaching can and will get you what you want out of any situation, although you will probably find that, as you go through the process, what you want may change. I have seen many a person who, as they got closer to their hearts desire, realised that society was telling them what they wanted.
Another view. Perhaps you would like to improve your sales team. Why just have one good telesales team member, for example? Why not replicate that persons ability across your entire team?
Do you know what you want out of your business? Your college degree? Any area of your life? Do you know how to get it?
What stops you?
The answer is you.
And you need someone to assist you in getting out of your own way.
Would world class athletes still be world class if they didn’t have coaches?
You are a world class person, capable of exceeding all your goals.
What are you going to do about it?
